How do you use pomade for waves?
Pomade is a versatile hairstyling product that can be effectively used to create and maintain waves in your hair. With its thick and greasy consistency, pomade provides the necessary hold and control to achieve those sleek and defined waves that you desire. However, using pomade for waves requires a proper technique and a few essential steps to ensure optimal results.

Prepare Your Hair
How Do You Use Pomade for Waves? First, prepare your hair by washing it with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to keep it clean and hydrated. This creates an ideal base for the pomade to work effectively. After washing, gently towel-dry your hair until it is slightly damp—avoid drying it completely, as the remaining moisture helps the pomade spread evenly and maintain your waves.
Use A Small Amount
Next, scoop a small amount of pomade, about the size of a dime, and rub it between your palms to warm it up. This will soften the pomade, making it easier to distribute evenly through your hair.
How To Apply
Begin by applying the pomade to your hairline, starting at the front and working your way toward the back. Use your fingers to distribute the product evenly, ensuring that every strand of hair is coated. Once the pomade is evenly distributed, you can begin to create waves.

Use A Soft Wave Brush When You Start
To do this, use a soft-bristle brush or a wave brush to brush your hair in a circular motion. Start at the front of your head and work your way toward the back, using the brush to sculpt and shape the waves. For a more defined look, you can also use your fingers to twist and mold individual sections of hair into waves.
Brush in the Desired direction
Continue brushing and shaping until you are satisfied with the results. To set the waves in place, you can use a durag or wave cap, which will compress the hair and help maintain the desired shape. Leave the durag or wave cap on for at least 30 minutes to allow the pomade to set. This will ensure that your waves stay intact for a longer period.
Finally
Finally, once the pomade has set and your waves are well-defined, you can gently remove the durag or wave cap. Use a small amount of pomade to touch up any areas that may need extra hold or shine. Remember not to overdo it, as too much pomade can make your hair appear greasy and weighed down.

- Ponderosa Pine vs. Plastic: The Science Behind the King Scorpion 360 “Pull”In the world of elite 360 waves, the “pull” is everything. It is the tactile sensation of a brush grabbing hair from the root and shifting it into a disciplined pattern. While mass-produced plastic brushes dominate the shelves of big-box retailers, serious wavers and master craftsmen are increasingly turning toward a more traditional, high-performance material: Ponderosa Pine. But why does a King Scorpion 360 feel fundamentally different than a standard plastic brush? The answer lies in the intersection of physics, material science, and the specific anatomy of the King Scorpion design.
- The Foundation of the Pull: How Wood Density Impacts Your 360 Waves PatternIn the world of elite waving, the “pull” is everything. It’s that specific mechanical tension where the bristles grab the hair at the root and stretch it into the desired 360 pattern. While most focus on the bristles themselves, the choice of wood is the unsung hero that determines how that tension is delivered to your scalp. Here is why the high-quality wood used in a King Scorpion 360 makes a functional difference:

- How to Keep Your 360 Waves Looking Good While Working Out: Sweat and Compression TipsMaintaining deep, connected 360 waves requires a level of discipline that often feels at odds with a high-intensity fitness routine. Salt-heavy sweat can dry out hair, while movement can shift your pattern, potentially undoing weeks of “wolfing” progress in a single session. However, fitness and waves aren’t mutually exclusive. By treating your workout as a specialized maintenance phase rather than an obstacle, you can preserve your progress while hitting your personal bests.
